Hooverville
The term "hooverville" was invented during the Great Depression describing towns where there's homeless people, it wasn't a good place to live in. There were over hundred hoovervilles in the 1930.
President Hoover and the government was responsible for fixing this crisis which is why the term "hooverville" came into play. The people were disappointed with the president and how he wasn't helping out the citizens of the united states during the Great Depression.
So many people didn't have homes or jobs, it was hard to provide for a family during these times. These towns were filled with people who were lost and needed help. President Hoover's responsibility was to end this like he promised but all what happened was crisis and more of it.
The hoovervilles had broken homes made out of whatever they could find like cardboard, wood, etc. They didnt have heat or beds, Some slept on the cold and hard floors.
